If you’ve just purchased a travel trailer and you’re preparing for your first camping trip, there are a handful of things you’ll need to gather in order to have a successful trip. From setup to tear down, our team at Click-It RV - Tri-Cities has compiled a list of travel trailer must-haves.

1. Toilet Bowl Brush

There are a lot of unique accessories you’ll need to take care of your RV toilet, but you’ll still need a good ole toilet bowl brush to keep it clean. Whether you’re completely hooked up on site or you’re camping off-grid, you’ll want to keep your bathroom as clean as possible!

2. Bedding

Many travel trailers come standard with an RV mattress and a quilt, but oftentimes bed sheets aren’t included. Before you finalize your reservations, make sure to find yourself the perfect set of bedding! Choose a material that’s breathable and easy to wash, especially if you’ll be hiking or spending time in the water.

Choose a color that represents your style, but is also neutral enough to hide dirt and grime. This is especially important if you’ll have your trailer in storage for any given time.

3. First Aid and Emergency Kits

You should always travel with a first aid kit and emergency supplies! Stock your trailer with a first aid kit that caters to your passengers and the area you’re traveling to. You should take stock of this kit before every single trip, making sure to replace any previously used items and adding any unique supplies for your specific destination.

It’s also important to keep emergency supplies available in your travel trailer. You never know when you may need jumper cables, flashlights or a fire extinguisher!

4. Clothing Hampers

Have you thought about where everyone’s dirty clothes will end up after they’ve been worn for the day? Make sure to add foldable, lightweight laundry hampers to your travel trailer to manage the dirty clothes pile-ups! Foldable options can easily be stowed away when not in use!

5. Water Hoses

Until you hook up your RV for the first time, you won’t realize how important hoses are. You want to have the right type of hose for your water supply, especially! Look for something with the right density and color for optimal water quality.

It can also be helpful to keep varying lengths of hoses in your storage compartment; you never know what a campsite’s hookups will be like.
